my back is burning. the stitches are sore. i feel the layers. having something removed from your body that doesn’t belong there is a frightening concept to me. waiting is just as scary. i feel vulnerable, not strong. i also don’t feel relieved. i still have two more visits. two more removals. two more weeks followed by two more weeks.
